Litter lessons

Whilst there is definitely a massive litter problem in this country I don't think it's just the kids who are to blame as councils in Fife seem to think. The dropping of paper, take away cartons, plastic bottles and empty cigarette packets happens in all areas and is committed by all ages, young and old. What I do think however is that educating children on the dangers and the impact it can have on their community is a good thing. If done from an early age it should become the norm to put litter in a bin rather than just chucking on the floor when out and about. If youngsters understood about where the council's money was spent and why there wasn't any left over for leisure facilities in their area due to the amount being spent on litter collection then maybe things could change in the future. As for all those irresponsible adults who drop litter when out and about, well they need hitting where it hurts, fine them!
