With Wimbledon round the corner tennis courts across the country are filled with players looking to improve their game. The courts at Wimbledon and other top clubs which attract top players like Andy Murray and the Williams sisters always look in pristine condition. But it doesn't matter whether you play at home, at a local community centre or tennis club, if you want to have both a good game and a safe game the court must be kept clean and free of debris.

Tennis courts that have a dirty surface can be potentially dangerous to players. When things like dirt, mildew and algae are not removed from tennis court the surface becomes slippery. A nasty slip or fall on the court could put you out of action for a few weeks where the only tennis you will see is as a spectator. A clean tennis court has much better traction so you will also have a much better game.

Cost is another consideration to bear in mind when not cleaning a tennis court. When left unclean for a period of time the surface will deteriorate and you won't see lines and cracks appearing. When this starts to happen you may have to look at resurfacing the court which is a very expensive job, 4 figures!
